Communications Committee

About Us
The Communications Committee is comprised of volunteers who produce and distribute the monthly newsletter, the Village Crier, the annual residents’ directory, and maintain the community’s Web site, www.oldtownvillage.org. We strive to effectively communicate valuable homeowner information, special events and activities, and basic information about the community and the City of Alexandria to all residents.

The Village Crier
The Village Crier is OTV’s monthly newsletter, which includes the president’s column, information from the board of directors, committee updates, announcements of special events and activities, and contact information for volunteers. It is published 12 times a year and now features Condo Corner, information from our neighbors in OTV’s condo association and End Notes, a column by residents for residents. Guest articles may be submitted to Cathy Hanratty. Articles will be used as room allows and edited for content.
The Annual Directory
The annual residents’ directory is produced and distributed each January to OTV residents. Names, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses are listed along with any other pertinent information residents wish to include. A form is included in the November issue of the Crier asking residents to update their information. Updates also will be included in the Crier throughout the year. Information can be submitted at any time to Bruce Goldhirsch. However, forms will still need to be updated each November, even if information has remained the same. This will ensure that no one is inadvertently omitted. The directory is intended for the sole and exclusive use of Old Town Village residents and owners. Information will not be shared with unauthorized parties.
The Web site
OTV’s Web site is a valuable, comprehensive communications tool helping residents stay electronically connected within their community. The site includes; clubs and activity information, committee responsibilities and updates, phone numbers and important city links, home maintenance and home repair problems and solutions.
Residents are encouraged to visit the site and contact Pat Street if there is something you would like to see included.
As with any volunteer organization, we welcome all residents who would like to get involved. If you think you might be interested or have skills you’d like to share, please contact Committee Chair Bruce Goldhirsch.
